Mortice Locks
Mortice locks are the minimum standard of security that many insurance companies will accept, and they come in either two, three or five lever varieties. Security and cost-wise, only five-lever locks should be fitted, and the lock must conform to BS 3621. Mortice locks can be fitted either with or without a handle. If fitted with a handle, the door has to be unlocked with a key, and then opened with the handle. This is called a “Sashlock”.
If fitted without a handle, the door can only be opened using the key; these are called “Deadlocks”. Mortice locks are sometimes erroneously referred to as “Chubb Locks”; while Chubb do manufacture them, they are not the only company that do.

We can install and fit door chains, internal door locks, and spy holes to doors, to increase security, especially for the elderly and vulnerable. For Prestwick commercial premises, we can install door bolts, combination locks and change manual shutter lock barrels. For all our Prestwick customers, we can change door and window handles. All locks supplied come with 2 keys; however, more can be supplied on request, for a small fee.
